"I hadn't ridden motorcycles in just about 18 years. A little older, a little wiser, a little more time on my hands and a little more money in my pocket, It was time for me to get on a bike again. I would be lying If I said I wasn't intimidated by the new technology and the thought of getting back on a bike after so long. I really wanted to buy a Harley Davidson Nightster, I love the retro look and the timeless style of the bike. I had been looking around other Harley Davidson Dealerships as well as auctions on Ebay Motors and Craig's List. I really did my homework on pricing, shipping, customizing my bike, you name it, I had the prices all worked out to get the bike I wanted and the costs to get it the way I wanted it. The pricing didn't include one thing that I forgot about, and that was customer service and developing a relationship with experts that would be there to guide me if I didn't know something, help me If I needed it and reassured me they would be there for me if I had any doubts. You cannot get these warm fuzzy feelings from ebay or online shopping. I still thought the compromise between price and customer service would still be worth the trade off, after all I can figure this all out on my own right? I walked into Wilkins Harley Davidson on one of my now weekly tire kicking price shopping excursions, greeted by Barbara Wilkins (now 80 years young) Barbara showed me a few new and used bikes. I told Barbara that I had been looking at bikes and was ready to buy one if the price was right etc. I asked her if she wanted to know the prices I had been looking at and had worked out in my head, I was shocked when she said NO. Usually sales people always want to know what the competition is selling their product for. Barb told me she would give me a really fair price on the bike without any extra charges like inspections fees, paper work fees or delivery fees. Surely she was going to inflate the cost of the bike and hide the fee's in the bike price. I couldn't of been more wrong. Barb gave me the a GREAT price and none of the extra fees EVERYONE ELSE charges. The bike was delivered to my door for free over 60 miles away and I was riding it by noon the next day. Barbara assured me If I had any problems that they would be there for me and would take care of it. I really liked that and I plan on using Wilkins for all my service. One of the things Wilkins does when you buy a bike is take you on a tour of the store (big deal right?) Yes it was, I was introduced to everyone from every department. Each person greeted me as If I was family and told me If I needed something I could contact them. Josh in Apparel, Matt in Customer Service, John in Sales, Barbara, Ann who took care of paper work and insurance. This Dealership is unlike anything I have ever seen and I hope it never changes. I look forward to my next visit at Wilkins Harley Davidson. This was THE BEST buying experience I have ever had. To date I have purchased 5 Motor Cycles, 9 Cars and 1 Airplane. Never have I enjoyed a purchase as much as my Harley Davidson at Wilkins Harley Davidson. A few notable mentions about this dealership. No one in this dealership is on commission sales. The business is family owned and operated, Barb and her late husband started selling Harley Davidson 62 years ago and Barb is still selling and greeting customers at 80 years of age. You gotta love it!

These Harley dealerships are like smoking crack cocaine. You cannot stop once you start. I warn you newbie’s out there that the bike is merely the beginning. I bought my 2008 Road King Classic this year from this excellent Wilkins HD dealership and I thought that would be the end as I spent a little extra and bought a Road King knowing anything else and I would have been trading up In a few years anyway. Why stop there right?
May as well add a passenger back rest with CHROME support and CHROME accessory rack. Aftermarket fairing with Polk stereo with CHROME trim. Willie G CHROME nut cover kit. Willie G CHROME gas cap, Willie G CHROME Highway pegs. Willie G CHROME passenger floorboard covers, Cant have CHROME rear floorboards with CHROMING the front ones. Billeted CHROME Hog Pro 18 and 21 wheels with Metzler tires. Hate to have that standard looking front caliper and rotor so I CHROMED that while I was at it. Think it stopped here. Don’t even go there. True Dual header pipes in guess what finish. Yup, CHROME, CHROME Cycle Shack slip on exhaust. CHROME. CHROME, CHROME. If you see my wife please do not let her know as she just thinks the business is slow this summer and we have no money for food. My bookkeeper knows the real story. "John went over and above to make sure that I was happy. I first purchased a used Dyna that as a brand new rider could just not get comfortable on. He let me trade towards a 2009 1200 Sportster and only charge me as if I had rented the Dyna for just a few days, when I had actually had it for a couple of weeks. "We had a great experience with the purchase of our 2009 Ultra from Wilkins HD. Working with John was a pleasure. He went above and beyond the call for us. We live over 150 miles from the dealership, but that was no matter. John emailed us pictures of our new bike as it came off the truck and at various stages of the "build" after that. It was such a nice expression of caring for his clients. During this process we eagerly waited for the next picture to arrive. The delivery experience was great. Everyone at the dealership was friendly and welcoming. About a week after we took delivery of our bike, we found out the Motor Vehicle department had raised an issue with our registration; but one call to the good folks and Wilkins, and it was all figured out - same day, no worries, and another example of great customer service.. "Over the winter I had some work done to my 07 Deluxe, some? well ok alot. Mike in parts was a huge help and a blast to work with. As a woman, having Mike as a consultant and working partner along with his team in service made my quest of having not only an amazing looking bike, but all the great elements we put into it " work". The custom sissy bar Mike helped me with, the size and how he helped me determine it was huge for me, he covered my back and best interest basically. He took over comunication with the vendor and made it happen.
The decision to stick with 16" wheels and tires rather then 21, 18 was right in the end, thanks to Mike pointing out pitfalls that could ultimately effect my love of long distant riding and dealing with Vermonts roads. The wheels themselves were a team effort and suggestion from Josh in Clothing to the guys in service, Roland Sands Judge wheels are a perfect match for the over all "attitude" I was striving for. The Roland Sands air cleaner, they made sure it was going to work, questioned it and made me aware it might not be a good fit, it's a jewel on the bike and worked out. Now, John, John Lyon! wow straight shooter that really knows his stuff and delivered his opinion with gusto with regards to Racing tuners and how having my bike dyno'ed tuned might resolve some issues with air cleaner, he was right saved everyone including the rep from Drag specialties alot of time and headaches.So heres a testimony to the guys in the background making it happen! and servicing the customer. The deluxe doesn't look like a Nostalgic bike. It's unique with some serious attitude, created by all of us. How special I feel riding it and look forward to how it places in Wilkins Bike show.

" MAN TALK ABOUT SERVICE. I was at Wilkins doing paper work on the bike I was buying with Ann and my cell rings. It was my wife asking "where are you?" I told her I was at Wilkins doing paperwork and buying the bike, and she says "well your bike is here(home)." The other day I had a gas leak and called Wilkins. I told them what was wrong and they came, got the bike, fixed it, and NO CHARGE. Now that's why its the only place I'm going for service of any kind. THANK YOU ALL VERY MUCH.

"The staff at Wilkin's is wonderful. Our experience with them was great. Mark took the day off work so we could visit Wilkin's and see the bikes - We had been looking on-line at the web site. I talked him into just going in to "look" By the end of the day I had him buying a 2009 Dyna Superglide Custom in Red-Hot Sunglo!! We were greeted at the door by Josh who was really good about doing his best to answer our many questions about the bike , when we had a question he wasn't sure how to answer he went and found someone who knew the answer. John came out and greeted us with a handshake and a smile. we explained that we were just looking , there was no pressure he answered all the questions we had and we left. We came back later the same day again we met with John and he gave us everything we needed for our bank to give us our loan. we returned later the same day money in hand ready to buy our first Harley-Davidson. Upon our return John directed us to Paula and Ann who had our paper work done quickly and easily. John then took us to meeet Brooke at the parts counter and he took us around the shop to meet the staff who were all wonderful and so nice. Dennis took over for John to do the walk through on our new Harley. He was great he asked us more than once if he was explaing things too fast and made sure we understood everthing he was showing us. He took over 45 minutes with us staying late. Even as the other staff members were leaving( and waving to us) he stayed going over the bike with us. We would recommend Wilkin's to everyone we know. We have been back to get riding gear and Josh knows his stuff - taking time to show and explain to Mark about how a good helmet needs to fit, Next is my turn.

"I recently bought a 2008 nightrod special vrscdx.It's been a couple of weeks now and I've gotten some good miles on the bike so now I can comment.This bike is an animal.It's powerful,and fast but that's not all.The handling and braking are superior compared to other bikes i've ridden.I definataly will not be buying anything but a Harley for here on out.I've rode all kinds of different styles and and makes of the Foriegn bikes and they don't even compare.This bike has the best of both worlds.It's got comfort and perfomance and a whole bunch more with that Harley name across it.The people at Wilkins were great to deal with.They were very knowledgable and weren't pressuring in any way,even though my mind had been made up before I got there I think.Hell they delivered my bike and picked up my trade in,and it's not a short trip. The overall experience has been great and I will be dealing with them for now on. "

"Only get a 3 star on the financing because the rate is high AND require 10% down.
First ride today. Couldn't be happier. Dennis and John were great on the sales floor and never once pushed me towards a decision I didn't want to make. I have worked in sales for the last decade and your entire store is a beacon of what customer service should be. Congrats. I recommended my store (Skirack) take a field trip to see just what premium customer service is.
Josh was super helpful in getting me set-up with some chaps and walking be through actually putting them on. And he never once failed to mention that you guys were there to help and you would try to order me whatever I might be after.
The parts guys were super fast in coming up with prices and never judged what parts I might have been interested in. They answered my questions thoroughly and honestly.
And while service, I didn't get to meet much, did a bang up job. The picture perfect service department is never seen nor heard, and really, I only ever talked to Aaron when I called to see if my bike was ready 5 days ahead of what we agreed too. And it was! Again, I was told my bike was ready, and when I got there it was outside and ready to roll.
Today was my first ride, and it certainly won't be my last.

I admit, the first thing I did was check the website and found several street glides that caught my attention. One Crimson Red Sunglo bike really caught my attention, however I was still skeptical from the run around and "sales game" that I was experiencing with other dealerships...including where I had purchased my first Harley at a dealership in MA (and have now committed to NEVER going back - it was like once the sale was done you were just another number...
I ended up finding an older street glide that I considered buying (this was NOT at Wilkin's Harley Davidson), and to make matters worse I was settling instead of finding what I really wanted when my same friend that had told me about Wilkin's sent an email to the Wilkin's General Manager, John Lyon to tell him about me and get his advice on the situation. Within minutes I had email coming to me from my friend and seconds later John Lyon of Wilkin's Harley.
It was an absolute pleasure talking with John Lyon on the phone. His demeanor was extremely polite, his answers to my questions were straight forward (none of this "SALES MUMBO-JUMBO") and his willingness to listen to the customer was a breath of fresh air. Within minutes John and I had discussed my needs, what they had in stock (including pricing factoring in my trade and loan term) and suddenly I had several viable options ahead of me and the BEST part was THERE WAS NO PRESSURE!
After a short discussion with my wife we decided to make the trip to Barre, VT and although it was 110 miles one way, the trip was worth every moment of it. We were greeted as we walked in the door by "Josh", the Merchandise Manager who knew us by name and immediately offered us something to drink (of course at this point we really just needed a bathroom - but the hospitality was like nothing we had experienced at any other Harley Dealership).
We met with John Lyon who immediately provided us with a tour of the facility, introduced us to his employees (all of whom were very polite) and finished on the showroom floor looking at their selection of street glide bikes. Another interesting point my wife and I noticed was John knew every customer we saw walk through the door by name - what a change.
Now I must say our shopping was slightly interrupted because of ALL the socializing we were doing with "Grandma" - Barbara Wilkin's; what a pleasure she is...
John spent a couple hours with us looking at the different model street glides, answering our litany of questions without missing a beat. Well remember that crimson red sunglo I mentioned - IT LOOKS EVEN BETTER IN PERSON! I was hooked. With what was probably the most comfortable buying experience I have ever had I now had my dream bike and Wilkin's Harley was the catalyst that made it happen.
(Ok there is just a little more) Approximately two weeks later I returned to Wilkin's to sign paperwork and get another chance to preview the bike. When we arrived we were immediately brought out to the service center to see the bike, it was immaculate! We took care of the admin side of things and then John Lyon's took a minute to review the bike with me and all of its options (when I say a minute I mean about 40 minutes of course).
John reviewed every part of the bike with me, testing me (AND MY WIFE TOO) to make sure we had it all down (the sissy bar, ABS, cruise control, the stereo, the tire PSI, the security system and more) and that we didn't have any questions. This had been the best "overview" for a bike that we had ever experienced. However, the most memorable part of this was John handing us a business card with his home and cell phone number on it if we ever needed anything, or had a question regardless of the time of day or NIGHT... (although this sounds like a dare John) - I can not dispute that is great customer service!
Wilkin's delivered the bike all the way to my house where it is in my garage. This leads me to my ONLY complaint; if Wilkin's could just make Spring weather arrive a little faster then I could go ride even sooner!!!
Thank you to ALL the Wilkin's Harley staff and specifically John Lyon for making this a wonderful experience through and through. Like my friend referred me, I have already started telling everyone about my wonderful experience and when the dust finally settles there is one thing for certain; any future bike purchases we do will be done at Wilkin's Harley Davidson!

"My wife and I drove 536 miles round trip from Taunton MA to Wilkins HD in Barre VT. Why would anyone do such a crazy thing with the cost of gasoline being so expensive?
What makes Wilkins Harley Davidson in Barre Vermont different from any other Harley dealer?
I will explain why Wilkins Harley Davidson is different than the rest of the pack!
My wife Jodie and I jumped on our Harleys one summer’s day and headed to Wilkins HD in Barre Vermont. We like to check out HD dealerships throughout New England.
So off we went, when we arrived we where greeted by Barbara, she was so kind, would you like a coffee or water she said! We replied no thank you we are just checking out the dealership not knowing she was the owner. Jodie and I said what a nice greeting, we felt right a home.
Than my wife decided that we needed new motorcycle jackets, so she started talking to Josh the merchandise manager, he was a great help showing us all types of jackets and how thy work and how good there are, so on we ended up buying two jackets!
As we were leaving, my wife said you know I need an extra bag for my bike so off we went heading to the parts department. Jodie spoke to Mike the parts guy! How can I help you he stated, well Jodie said I need an extra bag for my HD Softail Classic but I don’t know where to put it? The lord only knows that Jodie has more than enough bags on her bike! Mike replied let me look at your bike, so off they went to look at her bike. Mike said to Jodie we can add a bag to the saddle bag guards. So Mike showed Jodie the leather bag and she was sold. Well any other dealer would have said thank you and see you later. Jodie asked Mike how does this bag go on? Well Mike came out and attached the bag on the bike for my wife at no charge. (That’s services plus!)
We were sold on Wilkins HD that day.
We have bought our past Harley Davidson bikes in MA, and NH and we have visited most of the dealers in New England and Northern NY. And none of them came close to the customer services that we received at Wilkins HD in Barre. So Jodie and I said you know the next bike we buy we should buy from Wilkins HD.
Well I decided to add a IDS to my 2007 Road king so we stopped by Wilkins HD again and spoke to Roger the services manager, well he said it just so happens that we are have a sale on that part including installation. So he gave me the price and I called other dealers asking for pricing and no other dealer came even close. I said to Roger that’s a great price when can you do it? He said well the part doesn’t go on sale until next week. I replied let me check with the boss (Jodie) and see when she plans on heading back to VT.
I asked Roger we will be back in two weeks; can you do it on a Saturday and make it quick? I dislike hanging around on a nice summer’s day. Roger said we will do our best to get you in and out. When I arrived that Saturday they brought my bike right into the services bay and within 1.5 hours we where on our way!
This year 2009 I decided to buy that new redesigned FLHX Street Glide touring bike. I emailed no less than 5 dealers in New England and no one responded. Than Jodie said to me I though we discussed if we where going to buy a new bike we would ask Wilkins HD in VT for a quote. I replied your right I will e-mail them tomorrow morning. So I went online got Wilkins E-mail address and fired off my questions. And bang just like the say on their web site. That they reply to e-mails quickly. That is so true! John Lyon e-mailed me right back telling me that he received my e-mail via his blackberry and told me that that Dennis the sales manager would get back to me as soon as possible.
So the next thing I know Dennis the sales manager sends me an e- mail asking me about my needs. Than he asked me if I was planning on trading in a bike, well we went back and forth and that we came to an agreement based on them looking at my bike before the deal was agreed upon. So we setup financing and insurance issues and than setup a time to meet that coming Saturday; I gave them a down payment to hold the bike and my wife and I drove 268 to Barre VT along with my motorcycle trailer and our two Labrador retrieves.
When we arrived the place was busy! Every one was looking at the new upgrades on the touring bikes. Jodie and I went inside the show room and where greeted by John Lyon the GM and than by Dennis the sales manager I said to him how did you know who I was? He said it was easy you have MA plates and a trailer.
Dennis came out to my trailer he looked at my bike and than helped me unload it he drove it and than he told me the bike looks and runs great we have a deal!
So Jodie and I went the see the office manager Paula! Paula had all the paper work ready and we where in and out in and out in no time. Than Paula started to introduce us to the rest of the Wilkins staff, we stopped her and said there is no need for introductions we know them all already!
The bottom line is this, if you are looking for the best services in New England head to Wilkins Harley Davidson in Barre Vermont you won’t be sorry!

I have had such a great experience, since before I returned from Iraq til this day you have always taken the best care of me and my Road King. Everyone there is so helpful and are always willing to go the extra mile. Today, people put up with terrible customer service because it seems to be the norm, but I have always been treated like I am the most important person in the shop. This summer I had the good fortune of traveling out to California on my bike and it ran like a charm. The only thing I did was change the oils, 10,000 miles in a month, talk about dependable!! We live in such a great country and if there is a better way to see than on a Harley, I don't know what it is. The trade to his new Cross Bones and adjusting to his Cross Bones has well been an adjustment, on both of us! You helped him with the purchase of leather FXRG Jacket, boots, chaps and gloves, all made the adjustment and total enjoyment of the bike complete when we headed home.
I knew it was a great bike one he would enjoy, but taking the time and money investment in the right clothing gear made his ride so much more enjoyable and more "focus time" to really dig into the cool ride of the Cross Bones and he said he would ride more with me!
I love the fact we don't have to "BUY" our discount upfront and basically prepay for services and "customer loyalty" through a gimmicky card.
What a concept at Wilkins give the customer what they should have for FREE, up front with no mathematical gimmicks that really don't add up to whats really important, true valued customer service and true appreciation for repeat customer loyalty, thanks for appreciating our business and "trusting" our loyalty with out a card to make us fast Harley friends and loyal repeat customers.
I travel pretty far for an oil change and the friendly hello from your staff every week I stop by for coffee and well lets face it, some new parts! It's only been what 2 months since I darkened your door and feel right at home!

"I was in the store yesterday about a a problem I was having with a loose bolt on my sissy bar side plates.
I was overwhelmed with the service I received from Mike in parts and Roger in service. I couldn't believe how much time and energy was spent to help me with an issue, although important to me, may not be seen by most as a critical problem. Mike looked and tried everything possible to fix my "loose screw". Roger didn't stop until I was ready to leave.

"I would like to "Thank" Roger, Marc and the service department for there excellent service work on my Fat Boy. I've had the bike for two summers (going on my third..) and it has had problems from day 1 when I purchased it from another dealer. I heard about you through some friends and they highly recommended me to bring my bike to you and said if there is a problem with the bike Wilkins will find and take care of it.
At least one time per tank of gas the bike would buck and sputter and since you found the problem I have ran three tanks of gas through the bike without one issue. It may sound early to say the problem is behind us but it is the first three tanks of gas without a problem for the first time since I've owned the bike.
Great service and communication with the customer is a hard thing to find these days but you guys went above and beyond on both catagories! I will (and already have..) recommended your service department to everybody I talk with and when it comes time to trade in for another bike it will only be with Wilkins!

Just look at the customer testimonials and see how many people either have a HD dealer in their hometown, or drive right past one just to get to Wilkins....there's something to be said for that!!! The folks at Wilkins are some of the hardest working, friendliest, most sincere professionals we've had the pleasure to deal with in ANY industry and I simply can't say enough about our buying experience! We initially requested a price quote over the internet, and received a response from John within minutes. We were shocked when it was well below another dealer's "best offer". When we arrived at Wilkins to look at the bike, it was a nice touch to see our names and hometown on a tag on the handlebars. John and Ann stayed THREE HOURS past closing so that we could drive our '08 Fatboy 105th anniversary model home last night, and Gram made a special trip in on her one day off a week just to meet a new customer....simply amazing!!! John went to the store to get sodas for my family and I while several other employees spent over an hour playing with our 3 year old and 10 year old children!!! We've found a new home in Barre, VT and will make the 50 mile ride up Route 14 regularly to visit our new family!!!"

"I recieved word Wednesday that my father was going to die and that I should get home soon. I live in North Carolina and got on my bike to see him one last time. My wife called Wilkins and talked to John about needing my bike serviced when I got there. John was very helpful, we even tried to arrange to get some Harley's together so my dad Buster could see and hear the thump of a Harley one last time. My dad used to ride Harley's and bought them from Harry in the late 50's and 60's. My first introduction to Wilkins was when Buster brought me to the old shop some time ago. Harry remembered Buster and asked if he wanted to take one for a ride. To say I was impressed with the encounter would be an understatement. It took me a long time to get a Harley but the love my father had for them passed down to me. The ride home to North Carolina gave me time to think about a great dad and how every time I ride I know he is with me and even though we never rode together I still feel his love. He passed away early saturday with us around him. Now he is thundering down the gold highway on his Superglide. I just want to thank everyone at Wilkins for taking care of me during this time of need. When I initially filled out an application for financing and later when requesting quotes, I received a telephone response less than two minutes after completing each form online. I was also very impressed with the ease of financing. Wilkins was able to cater the loan to meet my needs. I was able to finance everything from the bike itself to the insurance and vanity license plates!
Often when dealing in the service industry one encounters customer service agents who say and do the right things, but their actions seem disingenuous. This was not the case at Wilkins. I felt that every staff member I dealt with had a genuine concern for my best interest. That made all the difference in the world.

... on my tour through New England in the past weeks (was our vacation) - as always - I tried to meet and see as many Harley-Davidson dealerships as I can. They are mostly different to ours in Germany anyhow and mostly you can see some parts and stuff we dont have here. But parts, bikes and stuff ... this is not all - there is something more to "get in touch with" and this is service.
I have by far visited a lot of dealers all over the US in the past years, of course the same in Germany and in other parts in Europe so far and always you compare those to each other. I realized that real size of a dealership at Harley-Davidson is not the store dimensions, but the customer service and relationship. And that is something I was experiencing in a way when I entered Wilkins Harley-Davdison as I never had it before.
There was a very nice gentleman at the desk in the middle who took care of all my company that morning from 1st minute we entered until we left - he offered us coffee, we got some pins and he was there for all the questions in any case we had. I am very thankful to this ! Walking around in the store made us see that anybody acted like him ! Customer service seemed to be in the blood of anyone working in there ! Guys you were doing really, really great and overwhelmed us !
Your treasure sure is to turn a customer relationship to a friendship - and you know more than any dealer else on how to do that. Keep that secret guys and you will find yourself always on top of dealers in the world. Sad Germany is not around the corner to be part of those lucky ones in your store.

"Hi John,
I'm writing to give you an update on the upgrade to
the IDS (Isolated Drive System) on my 2007 Road King.
First, overall, the difference is dramatic and I now have a usable 5th
gear!!!
As advertised, the bike runs much smoother through all of the gears. In
1, 2, 3, 4, & 6, I never really noticed any vibration nor noise - until
I had the IDS installed and could compare. The IDS sprocket is
significantly better! It is especially noticeable in acceleration from
lower RPM's. Before the bike would lug and you would feel the stutter
throughout the entire bike. With IDS - Gone!! Smooth acceleration
throughout almost all RPM's. At steady travel, again, the bike is MUCH
smoother - even at the lower RPM's. For example, in 4th gear, I can ride
down as low as the low 30's where before the bike would lug and surge.
Now for the original issue - the 5th gear clatter. I would love to say
it's gone completely however, due to the straight cut, I believe that
would be impossible. HOWEVER, it has dramatically been reduced (my
guesstimate is about 75%) and is almost unnoticeable. Certainly, it is
no longer an issue and now feel like I have regained another gear. I can
ride 5th from the 40's to the 70's and the bike is smooth and quiet.
Before, I felt like 5th was completely unusable at any speed.
So, overall, I am thrilled with the improvement and, even without the
5th gear clatter, is well worth the cost for the overall ride
improvement. With the 5th gear clatter issue, it is an absolute must and
worth every penny.
If you have any customers that would like to talk directly to me, please
pass along my contact info. I'm so pleased with the change, and with
Wilkins, that I'm willing to do what I can to help others.
Finally, I understand why you guys are #1 for Customer Service. Dennis
and Roger were incredibly helpful, and patient, with anything I asked or
needed. I also truly appreciate your understanding and willingness to
work with me on this. I know that this kind of stuff is not easy but you
really stepped up to make sure I was satisfied. Being 2.5 hours from
your dealership is not the most convenient but I can tell you, for sure,
that you have a loyal customer. I would tell anyone, despite the
distance, that it is worth buying and servicing the bike at Wilkins.

"Eight girlzzzz on our yearly trip on motorcycles from Waterbury, Connecticut and of course we needed service. We all came in to get two bikes serviced. The person that helped us was so nice and he knew that this was one day of our vacation. And even though the dealership was a real nice place to hang around and shop, we did not want to spend the whole day there. So after some shopping at the dealership, we wanted to go to lunch and we were down one bike. None of the girls felt comfortable anough to ride another one of the girls. So the manager lent us his truck! We could not beleive it. There is no better customer service than that! We went off to lunch, some on bikes, some in the truck (of course we kept our helmets on when we were in the truck for laughs) and when we came back, bought some more clothes and went on our happy way! I was amazed at the customer service and boy are those bathrooms clean!!!!!"

"I live in southern NH and searched nearly every Harley dealership in the area for the bike I wanted and with the service I was looking for. I contacted Wilkins at the recommendation from another friend who lives in NH. I was skeptical at first but quickly became convinced once I spoke with them. They were extremely courteous, friendly, and professional. After some bit, we agreed on a bike and a price.
I showed up the next day to find the bike in immaculate shape, basically no miles, and all the paperwork in order - with absolutley no extra charges (for example, doc fees). John and Anne (his Mom) were ablsolutely wonderful to deal with. John then spent a while going through every detail of the bike - never once did I feel like they were rushing me out the door.
They even capped things off with a little gift. Overall, the experience was awesome and the trip was absolutely worth it (not to mention, beautiful!!).

"My friend Ray Allen recommended your store to me and my husband. My husband is physically challanged and always in severe pain and trips longer than 15 - 20 minutes takes a toll on him. We were both glad that we did take a longer trip to Barre from the Champlain Islands. "Yours is an outstanding dealership. Before actually buying a motorcycle, I talked a lot of people. Everyone with whom I spoke told me that I must, "check out Wilkins." What good advice that was. From the first of my many phone calls and visits to the final purchase, I have been made to feel welcome. My first visit is typical of all my visits. The store is a relatively small, so when I first entered, I met a woman who was standing by the door. It was a beautiful day, so we chatted it about the weather for a while. Then she asked if she could help me. I thought it was odd because she had not identified herself as a salesperson. It turned out that I had just met "Barbara," co-founder of the business that was started in 1947. She offered me a cup of coffee, introduced everyone in the store, and introduced me to John, her grandson. "I have owned ten, (10) Harley-Davidson Motorcycles in the past six, (6) years. A few repeats from some Dealers, but mostly from a different Dealership each time. My quest to find the perfect Dealership kept me looking from state to state. I can safely say my search is over. Wilkins Harley-Davidson treats me like I'm part of the family. John answered every single question I had, (and I had a LOT!), often-times returning e-mails well into the night, on weekends, off-duty days, and from remote locations. He never missed ONE. When I picked the bike up, it was detailed to perfection - not just a quick once-over with a rag. John spent a considerable amount of time working on this deal with me and he was helpful as always. I recieved a very fair trade in and was now the owner of an 06 Street Glide. Couldn't be happier with the bike. Now the fun began. A major thanks goes out to Mike in the parts department. He and I spent several hours going over ideas to enhance my new ride. And has been said by several we knocked it out of the park. Mike was patient and had great ideas and was able to put together what I was visualising not an easy task. He even stayed over an hour late to wrap things up. SO THANKS MIKE. Wilkins has a great way of making you feel like part of something. We enjoyed the exerience so much that we said the heck with it and bought Terry an 06 Street Bob. She also couldn't be happier. Again thanks to Mike and Brooke for their help in making her bike a perfect fit for her. They even set up a demo for her with what the bike would be like with the lower shocks and it fit perfectly. Now if we could get Brooke to keep a secret that would be something. The office staff of Paula and Anne were also very helpful and professional as always.

"I set a goal for myself years ago, and that was to own a HD before I turned 30. I stopped into Wilkins last week just to see what was new. Not really ready to buy. I was greeted by Brooke, who admitted he wasn't a salesman, but would try to answer any question that I might have. He did a great job, then he handed me over to John. John told me he had a bike out back that I might like. He was right. It was indeed what I was looking for, but I still wasn't ready to buy a bike yet. John suggested that we go and look at numbers for when I was ready to buy. I almost fell out of my chair when I found out that between the monthly bike payment and the monthly insurance payment, that I would be paying less then $200 a month. I was sold. I told John that I wanted to think about it, and wouldn't be able to do anthing until the following weekend. Throughout the week, I would email John questions that I had, and he would get back to me that same NIGHT. this past weekend I bought the bike of my dreams. They Even Know Your Name!
As the very first rental at Wilkins Harley-Davidson in Barre, Vermont, I took very seriously the evaluation of not only the staff, the business and its layout, but the rental motorcycle as well. The staff of Wilkins was very well informed and able to answer questions about the rental process quickly, professionally and efficiently. The business itself has stood the test of time, offering not only a legacy of fine service, but a legendary variety of motorclothes and accessories that is second to none. The motorcycle itself was a sparkling new H-D, and not only everything I expected but also a great adventure to ride and tour with.
In conclusion, I’d have to say what stuck me most about a rental from Wilkins was the staff. In most businesses nowadays, common old fashioned courtesy has gone out of style. It’s a ‘Get them in and get them out’ type of mentality. This does not exist at Wilkins Harley-Davidson for they have learned the secret that getting personal with your customer is a ‘good’ thing and what’s more… they make it a point to even know your name! To me, that means everything.

"From a 250cc. Honda- to a new 2003- 1200 Sportster, to a new 2005 Heritage Soft tail Classic. It never would have happened for me if not for Wilkins Harley Davidson. I ride with my Dad who has a 1999 Fat Boy that my Mom bought him brand new from Barb. We ride all over Vermont. We take short trips daily and long ones when we can sneak out (which isn't hard) The folks at home understand.
We have no reason to shop other dealerships when THE BEST is less than 1 mile from us. Can't wait for the snow to go.. Gotta get L'il Ted out of Wilkins warm storage and on the highway.
