Here at Wilkins, we take pride in upgrading your Harley-Davidson®. Installing handlebars is one of our more lengthy jobs. When bars permit, we internally wire to get a super clean look. Some bars we have to de-bur the opening. Because of the drilling process it leaves a very shape edge that can cut the wires when getting pulled through. Being cautious and ensuring we have the time necessary to pull wires is an important part of the job.
We also install special upgraded neoprene handlebar bushings. This gives the rider that firm feel you want when holding on to the handlebars going down the road. With longer/higher bars, it gives you more leverage for bars to flex back and forth, but not with these special neoprene bushings.
We finish it off with custom length brake lines and clutch line/cables. After installed, new brake fluid is pulled though the lines. If your model is has ABS, we then hook it up to our special laptop and perform a brake bleed to be sure to get out any air trapped in the system. This is also an important part of the job and highly recommended you have a dealer perform this function.
